Acqua al 2 - Annapolis

I really wanted to like this place, but had a very poor experience and likely won't ever go back. I had heard many rave reviews upon their opening and I waited several months to try it out so that the restaurant could work out any kinks. We sat at the bar, and while one bartender was generally attentive, the other wasn't doing anything and seemed to be hired solely because he knew the owners. He was on his phone the entire time and even when asking for water he simply walked away. The attentive bartender made up for it the best he could, but as a result the attentive bartender was stretched too thin, and service suffered. Our appetizer course was good, and then after waiting for our main food for over an hour and a half, the bartender asked if we needed anything else. We responded that we were waiting for our entrees. He had another server come take our order as he was too busy making drinks, and she was visibly very annoyed, seemingly couldn't care any less about helping the over taxed bartender. After waiting roughly 20 more minutes for our food, then only one meal came out as the server didn't hear the second entree ordered, so it was forgotten a second time. The bartender then said something like "oh I thought you wanted it staggered", which was not the case as we were extremely hungry and needed to finish for the night. And since the meal that was brought out looked something akin of a college student trying to eat healthy (pic attached) that cost over $30, we decided to leave instead as it was nearing 10 pm. No apology was offered, and we were charged for this broccoli pasta plate even though we didn't eat it since we wanted to eat our meals at the same time. Nobody cared at all, and the only offering from the bartender was a shrug. And so I shrug to give this a better review after paying a lot for okay food with terrible service. We went to the nearby French restaurant and the meal was fantastic. I will most likely not be back to Acqua al 2.

The atmosphere is really nice. The food was extremely overpriced for what it was- especially the main dishes. My dish was extremely over-salted and over peppered. My husband’s pasta dish looked like it came out from a local convenience store. We would have been happy with it if we were ordering $5 meals in college, but at this price pointed, we expected significantly higher quality. It tasted like a reheated frozen meal. There are plenty of other restaurants in area that provide significantly better food and overall dining experience. We will not be coming back.

Great experience overall! We were excited to experience a new restaurant in Annapolis. Fantastic ambiance and decor. Service was amazing. Everyone was so kind and attentive, which was impressive particularly on a busy Friday night. The non-alcoholic drinks were wonderful and refreshing. Bread and olive oil at the table were tasty, as was the beef carpaccio. My tagliatelle was delicious— the ragú had a wonderful flavor profile and the pasta was cooked perfectly. My husband’s Gorgonzola gnocchi was good, but for whatever it’s worth, we felt like it was a bit strong on the gorgonzola and needed another ingredient to balance it out. The desserts were absolutely incredible. The tiramisu was lovely, and the panna cotta was an absolute show stopper! This was a great way to celebrate a birthday and we will definitely be coming back again soon.

Wow! Came without a reservation and the front of house staff were super kind and accommodating. Shared the pasta sampler and steak sampler. Our waiter made a great wine recommendation that paired with everything we ate. Service was some of the best i have ever had in my life! There was such care and attention, I felt like a guest over a patron. It's price tag is more than reasonable for the food, service, and ambiance. I am so grateful for everyone who works here. You not only nourished my body, you fed my soul. Grazie mille 💖

The food was great, our server Maria was OUTSTANDING. I really enjoyed everything about the dining experience. The restaurant was a little dark for me inside, but thats getting nit picky about it. Drinks were amazing. The downstairs bar is a neat place to grab a drink. I would highly recommend stopping in for dinner on your next visit to Annapolis

I don't know if it was the great company, the scrumptious meal or the midcentury motif, but the mix made for an enchanting evening. Great place to bring out of town guests to highlight Annapolis the town and our unique establishments. This is a historic bank turned restaurant. It has the presence of a stodgy old bank, but is balanced by a casual air. I look forward to more cocktails and meals here!
